These connecting elements transport you from one place to another. They also can define visual boundaries between other elements. They can be simple as well placed stones, or they can be magnificent complete with archways and gates.
Often walkways will include steps to change elevations such as getting to the front door. It's also possible to slope the land to minimize or eliminate steps if desired.
Walkways can be made of many materials. Here is a starting point:
- Concrete pavers
- Quarried stone
- Cut stone
- mulches (stone, bark, wood)
Existing walkways can be enhanced by bordering or expanding them with other materials.
